IBM rolls out sports podcast

IBM, which has had a series of podcasts that have taken a look at how the company will help certain market segments address future needs, is taking a look at the sports industry on its next one.

“IBM and the Future of Sports” discusses how technology is changing the way fans experiences sports – at home, at sporting events, playing video games and on the Web. The company says technology is is giving rise to a new generation of sports fans who expect to be much more intimately involved in the sporting experience – as a producer of sports content, as well as a consumer. Coaches, players, owners and organizers, meanwhile, have opportunities to innovate, too.

The podcast is hosted by Christopher Barger and features a discussion between Rick Singer, director of IBM worldwide sports marketing and Edward Hanapole, who heads IBM’s digital media consulting practice.

The podcast will be available on IBM’s investor Web site, at http://www.ibm.com/investor/viewpoint/podcast/27-01-06-1.phtml.
