Viasat Sport 1 grabs Harris IconMaster

Viasat Sport 1 in Sweden is among the first customers to receive a shipment of the new Harris IconMaster master control system with embedded multi-layer branding.

“Our unique requirements for our main sports channel, Viasat
Sport 1, were fulfilled with IconMaster, because its features enabled
us to use it as both a master control and production mixer,” said
Stefan Hammarlund, project manager, MTG Broadcast Centre.

Hammarlund says the console’s flexible
audio capabilities and control panel, will simplify operations. “The IconMaster system
surpassed our expectations by also being an integrated branding
solution,” he says. “Now one operator can be in full control of the automation
and branding, mixing between all twelve sources for Viasat Sport 1, enabling a complex, live workflow that is both cost effective and
logical.”

The system is based on the Leitch NEO modular platform and it can be combined
with other advanced applications such as the Leitch NEO SuiteView
multi-viewer series or the Leitch NEO XHD up, down, cross and M-Path
(multi-path) converter series all in the same frame. It also supports
internal routing using NEO routing modules and/or external routing with
Leitch or third-party routers. Unique in the marketplace, IconMaster
is fully configurable between SD and HD formats in the field and
without the need for expensive upgrades or replacements.
