Grass Valley, Front Porch demo integration

Digital Asset Management promises to be one of the hot topics at this year’s NAB convention and Front Porch Digital and Grass Valley will do their share to start the discussion. The two companys will demonstrate the integration of Front Porch s DIVArchive with Grass Valley s NewsBrowse Web-based browser/editing system and K2 Media Server and Media Client systems.

Front Porch Digital was the first broadcast archive management company to integrate and deploy with both NewsBrowse and our new K2 servers, and we are working closely on an increasing number of global customer projects, said Matthew Allard, product manager at Grass Valley. We look forward to demonstrating the capabilities with Front Porch Digital at NAB, so broadcasters can appreciate the compelling value proposition offered by our bundled solution.

The two companies have a long history of working together to successfully meet the needs of global broadcasters. Over the past three years, Front Porch has deployed DIVArchive in more than 30 broadcast facilities utilizing Grass Valley Profile XP Media Platform servers. Front Porch is now working with Grass Valley to deploy DIVArchive, NewsBrowse, and K2 servers in eight global customer facilities worldwide.

We are currently working with Grass Valley to deploy our bundled solution for several global broadcasters, but we also have joint installations with network affiliate stations in secondary metro markets as well, said Front Porch Digital President Mike Knaisch. That speaks to the cost efficiency we can achieve to meet the needs of smaller broadcasters and the scale we can accommodate for the largest newsroom archives in the world.
