Danilowicz appointed MD Vitec Group Communications

Matt Danilowicz has been appointed Managing Director of Vitec Group Communications worldwide after having joined Vitec Group Communcations as Vice President, Sales & Marketing (Americas & Asia) in November 2005. He replaces Chris Exelby who is leaving the company to pursue other business interests.

Currently based in Emeryville, California, Danilowicz will split his time between the USA and the company’s internationla headquarters in Cambridge, UK.
Danilowicz has spent more than 20 years in the American broadcast industry. He has been closely invloved with major technical innovations including station automation, nonlinear editing, video servers, playback and graphics centralisation as well as the financial operations of a number of start-ups, management buy-outs and successful business turnarounds.

He has held senior management positions with Avid Technology, ParkerVision (where he facilitated the company’s asset sale to Thomson) and Dynatech.

Commenting on the appointment, Joop Janssen, Chief Executive, Broadcast Systems Division said: “We’re very pleased to be able to make this annoucement – Matt has been key to the overal success of Vitec Group Communcations since joining us in 2005. One of his first tasks in his new role as Managing Director will be to work with me to further develop out three year business plan for the company, geared to its continued success in opening up new markets in emerging geographies and bringing innovative products and technologies to the broadcast and live performance industries.”
