Glowpoint snaps up NFL for third year

By Andrew Lippe
Glowpoint will be the service provider of the NFL pre-season training camps for the third consecutive year.

Glowpoint, a provider of high quality IP-based video management for all 31 NFL franchises, will help the NFL Network air in-depth coverage of training camps beginning July 31. Throughout the pre-season the network will provide coverage that includes sideline interviews with players and coaches using Glowpoint’s TeamCam which was used successfully at ESPN’s coverage of the NFL Draft.

“Our program is easy to manage and provides high quality bandwidth,” says Mike Brandofino, Glowpoint’s president and CEO. “We have the ability to do high quality two-way communication without the cost of a satellite feed.”
Glowpoint enables on-demand broadcasting with always-on exclusive video network connectivity, reducing transport costs up to 80 percent when compared to traditional satellite feeds. Glowpoint also provides routers for the NFL so that each camp can be connected with each other and other NFL facilities. “We specialize in video communication, if fans want exclusive content we will help provide it,” says Brandofino. Glowpoint says it hopes to offer HD video communications in the future.
