B2 Networks goes mobile with video thanks to Vuico

By Andrew Lippe

B2 Networks will use Vuico s wireless computing software, Vuico GoWireless and Vuico GoVid, to provide live sports video and key game highlights to mobile phones and mobile devices.

B2 will broadcast more than 2,000 events during the next six months from numerous arenas, stadiums and entertainment venues. B2 Networks customers with video-capable mobile devices will be able to watch live sporting events using the B2 menu wherever they are and any time. They recently broadcast the World Professional Fighting Championship from The Palm in Las Vegas live on mobile devices in three continents.

We share common interests and goals; such as delivering live broadcasts over cell phones, says Bruce Levine, B2 VP of Media and Broadcast Relations. Vuico technology specializes in distributing digital content.

Our expertise is in mobile phones and specialize in sporting events says Vui Le, President and CEO of Vuico. Regarding the Professional Fighting Championship, viewers were able to view the event live on their phone using Vuico GoWireless and Vuico GoVid technology.

We are a technology provider we do not touch the content,” says Le. All content is uploaded live into our data center and then we push those feeds into cellular phones.”

Along with mobile devices B2 is also a content provider for television systems and broadband. Levine noted that distributing bandwidth on mobile devices or broadband especially live is much more difficult. Capturing content live requires more bandwidth, says Levine.

However Vuico s GoVid allows interoperability and solves bandwidth issues across many cellular networks including Cingular, Sprint and Verizon. All video, audio and podcasts applications provided by B2 can be enhanced for better performance on devices.

Having distribution rights to Professional Fighting Championship as well as the United Hockey League (UHL), American Hockey League (AHL), ECHL, USHL, as well as Baseball s Northern league B2 can deliver tons of live events and appeal to consumer demands. The B2 also provides the game of the week and gave highlights from a subscriber s favorite team. The B2 subscription is only $6.99 a month.

Consumers are excited for we deliver live real time action, adds Levine.
