TSN’s TradeCentre Delivers Winning Coverage and Nearly Triples Audience of Closest Competitor

More Canadian hockey fans tuned in to TSN’s NHL Trade Deadline Day coverage yesterday than any other network in the country.

TSN’s TradeCentre 07, which aired live from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, beat all other networks combined. TSN delivered an average audience of 150,000 viewers, nearly 3 times Rogers Sportsnet’s audience for its Trade Deadline show (53,000 viewers; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. ET) and 17 times the audience of The Score (9,000 viewers; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. ET).

In all, 1.2 million Canadians watched some part of TSN’s TradeCentre television coverage, up from 1.1 million last year.

For the first time ever, TSN streamed its entire 8-hour TradeCentre show online, and it was a hands-down winner with hockey fans across the country. TSN Broadband at www.tsn.ca attracted a total of 275,000 unique visitors for its live streaming coverage of TradeCentre 07.

Overall, TSN.ca recorded its 4th busiest day of all time yesterday with more than 1 million unique visitors and 8.8 million page views, roughly four times its daily average. Three of the Top 5 busiest days in TSN.ca history have been on NHL Trade Deadline Day.
