Harris Corporation to Deliver First CENTRIO Broadcast Multiviewer

Harris
Corporation, is delivering its first new CENTRIO multiviewer to Global Ontario, the
flagship station of Global Television Network, a Division of CanWest MediaWorks
Inc. Introduced at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)
convention in April, the award-winning CENTRIO is a multi-image processor
featuring superior graphics, broadcast-quality routing and integrated, precise
test and measurement tools.

“CENTRIO is a landmark development in multiviewer design and value,” said
Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. “It also
is a prime example of the ONE initiative Harris unveiled at NAB2007, which
signifies our ability to provide unparalleled interoperability across our broad
product line and powerful, integrated workflow solutions to our customers.
For CENTRIO, developers from across the Harris technology portfolio
collaborated to rethink and redesign the traditional multi-image processor,
with a key focus on superior flexibility. CENTRIO is able to quickly and easily
integrate into the Global Television network’s existing infrastructure, without
the need for time-consuming and costly redesign.”

Combining an advanced graphics engine and world-class routing infrastructure in
a single, expandable chassis, CENTRIO enables unique new capabilities and
introduces simplified system designs that reduce the cost and complexity
associated with traditional, large-system monitoring implementations. This innovative architecture and
functionality make CENTRIO ideal for broadcast, multi-video, audio monitoring,
master control rooms, broadcast trucks, events and staging applications —
anywhere dynamic access to a large number of inputs and multiple displays is
required.

At its NAB2007 debut, the CENTRIO multiviewer was honored with TV Technology
magazine’s STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient), which celebrates
the preeminent technological innovations available to the industry.

The innovative CENTRIO design provides numerous benefits for large

monitoring applications including advanced Inscriber graphics technology that
enables customizable, state-of-the-art image layouts that allow users to create
a leading-edge monitoring and control tool. The CENTRIO’s Robust Platinum
routing infrastructure supports systems of up to 512 inputs (high-definition,
standard-definition, analog or graphic) and drives up to 32 independent DVI displays
or 64 independent HD-SDI monitors from a single Platinum chassis.

There is
also simultaneous display across monitors of different resolutions. This
enables easy control of multiple wall applications in multiple rooms, in
multiple customizable layouts.

Using built-in
audio/video test and measure capabilities, user rules

creation and on-screen control allows users to view more information

and respond to the system more quickly and effectively.
