Kansas City Royals Introduce Mobile Ticketing

The Kansas
City Royals, in conjunction with MLB Advanced Media and Tickets.com, Inc.,
announced the introduction of Mobile Phone Tickets technology at Kauffman
Stadium. The mobile ticketing service provides another quick and convenient
ticketing option, as fans can purchase tickets at royals.com and have them
delivered directly to their phone via text message.

In
addition to standard ticket information, each text message will include a
unique barcode that may be scanned for entry. Once the mobile ticket is
scanned, each guest will receive a printed receipt of their ticket with seat
location information to be retained throughout the game. Fans using the Mobile
Phone Tickets technology may enter Kauffman Stadium through designated
turnstiles at Gates A and B. The fee to have tickets delivered to mobile phones
is the same as the print-at-home option, which has become a popular preference
for fans in

Kansas City
and around Major League Baseball.

“We
are excited to be able to provide this service for our fans,” said Mark
Tilson, Royals Vice President-Sales & Marketing. “Mobile Phone Tickets
customers will experience the ultimate in convenience as they will be able to
bypass ticket window lines and proceed directly to the gate.”

The Royals
are now one of only five teams in Major League Baseball currently utilizing
mobile ticketing technology, joining the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh
Pirates, Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers.
