DIRECTV’s NASCAR HOTPASS offers inside look of Nextel Cup

As the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series shifts gears into the
final leg of the schedule, DIRECTV’s NASCAR HOTPASS will bring fans literally
inside the critical Chase for the NEXTEL Cup like never before. Over the final
ten races that comprise the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup, DIRECTV will offer its
exclusive NASCAR HOTPASS service during this time period for only $19.99.

“Since the invention of the race track, there has not been a
better way to watch NASCAR than with NASCAR HotPass on DIRECTV,” said Eric
Shanks, executive vice president of DIRECTV Entertainment.

In the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup format, the top 12
drivers in points heading into the final 10 races of season qualify for the
Chase, competing over these final events for the ultimate crown in motorsports,
the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. As has been the case all season long, DIRECTV’s NASCAR
HOTPASS will offer five fully-produced channels during the Chase, dedicated to
five drivers for the entirety of each race. The $19.99 offer will also include
the two crucial races preceding the Chase, the Sharp Aquos 500 at California
Speedway on Sept. 2 and the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Richmond International
Raceway on Sept. 8.
Keeping with the format that has made DIRECTV’s NASCAR
HOTPASS package a success during its first year, each of the five dedicated
driver channels will offer multiple camera angles, real-time statistics, in-car
audio communication and dedicated announcer teams, featuring top NASCAR
broadcasters, including Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds among others.
Combined with race coverage from ESPN, DIRECTV’s NASCAR HOTPASS will give fans
the most comprehensive and powerful Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup experience
possible.
