UCF Chooses Daktronics for Integrated Systems in New Athletic Venues

The
University of Central
Florida (UCF),

Orlando,
Fla.,
and Daktronics Inc.
of Brookings, S.D.,
have partnered to provide the UCF Knights with the latest in full-color, light
emitting diode (LED) display technology for the newly constructed on-campus
football stadium and basketball arena.

“As
we prepare to open two prominent venues at UCF, we are pleased to partner with
Daktronics to offer creative video display and scoring solutions at both
facilities. It’s quite an endeavor to open these two facilities
simultaneously and it’s been good to have Daktronics as part of our team”,
said David Hansen, Senior Associate Athletics Director, UCF Athletics
Association, Inc.

At Bright
House Networks Stadium, UCF football fans will be greeted by an integrated
video, scoring and advertising display system. The system features a ProStar
video display, measuring approximately 19 feet high by 34 feet wide. To the
left of the video display a custom football scoreboard will offer vital game
information. Incorporated at the bottom, a 75-foot ProAd display will provide
game-in progress information, team and player stats, full-color animation,
interactive sponsor messages and cropped video clips.

Home to
UCF basketball, the new UCF Arena will also utilize LED technology in the form
of a large state-of-the-art centerhung display. The display consists of four
primary ProStar video screens each measuring approximately 8 feet high by 10
feet wide. Custom basketball scoreboards will surround the video displays.
Highlighting the bottom, a ProAd digital LED ring display will provide
additional game stats and sponsorship opportunities. Mounted to the fascia, new
auxiliary scoreboards will provide basic game information.

Both the
football and basketball displays will be controlled by the proven Venus 7000
controller, V-Link video processor and All Sport controller.

ProStar display
technology, HD-ready and available only from Daktronics, uses the latest in
red, green and blue (RGB) LED technology to present live and recorded video
images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with incredible brightness and
wide-angle visibility. ProStar technology offers a long lifetime with minimal
maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years
to come.

“We
are proud to be involved in these two new facilities and help the

University of
Central Florida realize their visions
for all their fans and sponsors,” said Kyle Adams, Regional Sales Manager
for Daktronics.
