Powerful EVS Interface for Sony Switcher Speeds Production

A powerful
interface with EVS servers now gives users of the new Sony MVS-8000G production
switcher unprecedented control over stored footage within the fast-moving live
production environment.

Operators
can instantly see the complete library of clips stored on the server, and
recall, cue, and play the clips as required all from the switcher control menu.
Actions taken can then be automated, for repeated use throughout the production
at the touch of a button.

This high level of integration with EVS servers comes at a time when the demand
for animation elements and replays, particularly in sports outside broadcasts,
is growing rapidly. This makes rapid, repeatable manipulation of source
material all the more important.

The Sony MVS-8000G series switcher, which now includes individual keyer
resizers and internal format converters, has been future-proofed to support
1080-line progressive-scan high definition (HD) production in the future. The
new interface with EVS will give users access to the flagship EVS XT[2], one of
the fastest, most flexible and reliable HD video servers in the world.

“Sony switchers and EVS servers offer an unbeatable live production
combination,” says Andy Hotten, Post Production Product Manager at Sony.

EVS has a proven track record of collaborating with some of the best-known
companies in the broadcast industry, giving customers a valuable competitive
edge. EVS technology will be on show at more than 20 partner booths throughout
the RAI.
