Solid

State
Logic is pleased to announce the
appointment of Jerry Berger and Pete Wood as Vice President Sales and Sales
Manager, respectively, Media Production Systems. Jerry will be based in
the
United States at SSL’s
New York office and Pete will be based at SSL HQ in the

UK.

“We are
delighted to have secured the services of Jerry and Pete, two highly
experienced professionals with a wealth of relevant experience,” states Piers
Plaskitt, SSL Group Commercial Director. “They will spearhead the
commercial activities of our MediaWAN platform products on both sides of the
Atlantic, building relationships with other vendors and
systems integrators as well as with our customers. This represents a
significant moment in the development of SSL’s business that we are all very
excited about.”

Jerry
comes to SSL having most recently served as Vice President and General Manager
for MicroFirst Engineering, Inc. an award-winning international solutions
company concentrating on the media content management requirements of the
broadcast, hospitality and gaming industries. During his tenure with
MicroFirst, Jerry was responsible for directing the company’s successful
introduction into the broadcast television market. Jerry was previously at Sony
Electronics, Broadcast & Professional Group and NBC TV Network, where,
combined, he worked for nearly two decades.

“I am
thrilled to be joining Solid State Logic at this exciting and forward-thinking
time,” said Berger. “The company is already an established leader
within the Audio Post and Broadcast markets. Now with the advent of our new IT
based, MediaWAN Media Production Systems, SSL is set to become a leading
supplier to the Video Production Management and Delivery Market as well.

Prior to
joining SSL, Pete Wood led sales efforts for several leading broadcast
technology companies, including Sony Broadcast & Professional Group, Avid
Technology Europe, Encoda Systems and Autocue Systems. Most recently, he
was Sales Manager for OmniBus Systems Limited, where he successfully developed
both direct and channel relationships with major broadcasters in the
Middle East market. Overall, Pete brings nearly 15 years
experience in broadcast sales to SSL.

“SSL’s
established presence with European broadcasters, especially its excellent
reputation for technology and support, are the best possible platform for the
development of this new division to its business,” Wood comments. “I am really
pleased to have the opportunity to play a key role.”

These
appointments are concurrent with SSL’s expanded MediaWAN System offerings,
which includes the new MediaWAN Gravity content control system.
Encompassing all aspects of digital video acquisition and storage technologies,
MediaWAN Gravity is a complete, scalable broadcast news production system that
utilizes a suite of specially designed applications running on standard
high-performance PCs and servers.
