Pacific Coliseum Upgrades with Integrated Display System

Pacific
Coliseum in

Vancouver,
British Columbia,
Canada,
recently chose Daktronics to provide a scoring and display system for their
facility. The system, consisting of a four-sided scoreboard hung in the center
of the Coliseum, will include Daktronics LED video displays, custom hockey
scoreboards, and backlit sponsor advertisement panels.

“Working
with Daktronics has been great,” said Michael MacSorley, Vice President of
Operations at the Pacific National Exhibition. “They were very professional,
provided good service, and they worked within our tight timelines to get the
equipment ready for this year’s Memorial Cup. The installation has really added
to the fan experience.”

Daktronics
HD-ready video technology uses the latest in red, green and blue (RGB) LED
technology to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and
vivid graphics with incredible brightness and wide-angle visibility.

“We are
very excited to continue our relationship by providing new integrated video and
scoring to the Pacific Coliseum,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics Sales. “They are
very pleased with the new products and are excited to open the 2007-2008 season.”

Daktronics’
Canadian products dealer Centaur Products, Inc., played a large role in the
sale of this integrated system in the Pacific Coliseum. Because of the strong
relationship between Daktronics and Centaur Products, another Canadian facility
will soon recognize the advantage of having a Daktronics scoring and display
solution present in their arena.

“Once
again Centaur Products has been outstanding,” added MacSorley. “We’ve worked
with them in the past, and as always, they’ve been a first-class company.”

“The
Coliseum staff was fantastic throughout the entire process,” said Jim
Grozdanich, Assistant General Manager, Centaur Products, Inc. “The scoreboard
was operational for the 2007 Memorial Cup Hockey Tournament, and there will be
two exciting events held in the Coliseum in the near future – the 2008 BMO
Canadian Figure Skating Championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics. The
Vancouver Giants junior hockey team will now have one of the best scoreboards
and video display units in the entire major junior league for their fans to
enjoy.”
