MLS Primetime Thursday to Focus on Mexican National Team Star Cuauhtemoc Blanco

Mexican National Team star
Cuauhtemoc Blanco, one of the

Western
Hemisphere’s most mercurial soccer players, and the
resurgent Chicago Fire will face FC Dallas, led by Brazilian FIFA World Cup
winner Denilson, tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. on ESPN2’s MLS
Primetime Thursday. The telecast, simulcast on ESPN360.com, will be the
first appearance for Blanco and Denilson on ESPN2. Both players joined
their teams in midseason. Highlights:

Blanco Cam: Much like in
ESPN’s coverage of David Beckham’s MLS debut, Thursday’s ESPN2 match telecast
will feature a player-isolation camera focusing on Blanco’s every move
throughout the match. In-game action captured via “Blanco Cam” will be
featured extensively to offer fans a unique view of Blanco’s soccer skills –
dribbling, shooting, running off-the-ball, passing, et al.

Bilingual Booth: ESPN
Deportes soccer announcer Fernando Palomo will join analyst Eric Wynalda and
play-by-play commentator Glenn Davis in the booth to call the match with Allen
Hopkins providing sideline reporting. Palomo, a leading soccer host and
analyst for ESPN’s U.S. Spanish language sports network, will provide a
cross-cultural perspective on the career and impact of Blanco, having covered
the Mexican star’s club and national team career in

Mexico.
