Pappas Telecasting Launches “TuVisi n” Network

Pappas
Telecasting Companies, the largest privately-held, commercial television
broadcast group in the United States, announced that its new Spanish-language
television network, dubbed “TuVisi n,” has debuted on five of the company’s
television stations.
The network had a
soft launch July 1.
TuVisi n, which
means “Your Vision,” is being broadcast on Pappas stations KAZH-TV/Houston,
Texas, KTNC-TV, serving the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and
Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto television markets, KAZR/Reno, Nevada, KAZO/Omaha,
Nebraska, and KAZJ/Sioux City, Iowa.

The
programming of TuVisi n, which replaces the underperforming Azteca

America
programming previously broadcast on these stations, follows the Spanish
independent model successfully operating in key Hispanic markets.
TuVisi n features proven programs that are
first-run in the TuVisi n markets, obtained from the best program providers in
each genre, and are scheduled to offer an alternative to competing network
line-ups.
Additionally, Pappas is
working with Latino talent in the

United States to develop original
programming that is relevant to U.S. Hispanics.

The
operations of TuVisi n are managed by Fernando Acosta, a veteran of more than
15 years in the Spanish-language television business who has led
Spanish-language TV stations for Pappas Telecasting for nearly five years.

Harry J.
Pappas, Chairman and CEO of Pappas Telecasting Companies, said, “As the
Hispanic market has matured, the desire by our viewers for additional great
content has led to the development of this platform of high-value programming
choices for America’s Hispanic audience.

The model relies on a tried-and-true formula reflecting proven models
and our experience as broadcasters over four decades.”

Dennis J.
Davis, President and COO of the company, added, “The development of this new
Hispanic programming platform with solid distribution and high-value Hispanic
programming content will give us a unique opportunity to provide an additional
great viewing experience to Hispanic audiences.”

The
initial launch of five stations includes three important Hispanic markets –
Houston (Hispanic DMA rank #4), San Francisco-Oakland-San
Jose (#8), and Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto (#11) – plus secondary markets with
fast-growing Hispanic populations –
Reno,
Nevada;
Omaha,
Nebraska; and

Sioux
City,
Iowa.
By the end of 2007, Pappas expects to add 15
stations to TuVisi n.
Additionally, when
the relationship between Pappas and Azteca America Incorporated ends in 2008,
Pappas plans to re-program KAZA-TV in

Los
Angeles as a TuVisi n affiliate.
The programming change from Azteca to
TuVisi n in the nation’s #1 Hispanic DMA will add nearly 17.5% of U.S. Hispanic
population to TuVisi n’s footprint, bringing total coverage to nearly 40% of
the U.S. Hispanic population.
