TVN Production Selects Tektronix for new OB truck

TVN
Production, one of Europe’s premier outside broadcast van providers and
operators based in

Hannover,

Germany, has
selected Tektronix’s WFM7120, WVR7120, TG700 and associated change-over units
to equip TVN’s latest high definition (HD) outside broadcast truck.

The new ‘TVN 4’ is scheduled for deployment in early 2008. The adoption adds
to the dominant truck market share position for Tektronix, recently reported as
94% across
Europe.

“National
and international broadcasters trust TVN to deliver quality HD transmissions
from major sporting, cultural or information events,” said Thomas Stoschek, TVN
Production Head of Technical Support. “The speed, accuracy and precision
provided by Tektronix test and measurement instrumentation are vital to
guaranteeing that we deliver HD content that verifiably achieves the highest
level of quality.”

The
Tektronix WFM7120 waveform monitor is the latest advancement to a range of
enhanced waveform monitors that share a new, faster user interface and menu
structure, substantially reducing training requirements for engineers and
operators. The WVR7120 waveform rasterizer includes the most powerful HD
monitoring capability compliant with SMPTE 372M and provides an ideal solution
for basic monitoring of HD video and non-compressed audio. The TG700 video
signal generator is a multi-format, analog and digital precision signal
generation platform. Designed with the changing needs of the video industry in
mind, the TG700 offers sync pulse generation and test signal generation for a
wide array of analog, serial digital, and digital high definition formats.

“Recent
research has shown that Tektronix is by far the test and measurement supplier
of choice for European OB trucks, with more than 90 percent of the market,”
said Eben Jenkins, Director, Video Product Line, Tektronix, Inc. “We are
delighted that TVN has chosen Tektronix and look forward to continuing to
provide technology that supports their ability to execute assignments anywhere
in the world in a flexible and cost-efficient way.”

Engineers
supporting broadcast or post production facilities, or systems integrators,
need to be able to quickly detect, isolate, and diagnose video and audio
quality problems. Tektronix’s new waveform monitors (WFM7120 / 7020 / 6120)
and enhanced rasterizers (WVR7120 / 7020 / 6020) expand on the features of
the current generation of products.
