Michael Spirito named Director digital media and business development at YES Network

Michael Spirito
has expanded his role at the YES Network, (www.yesnetwork.com), the
most-watched regional sports network in the country the past four years, and
has been named director, digital media and business development. Spirito, who
joined YES as director of business development in August 2006, now adds digital
media to his responsibilities, including the overall management of
YESNetwork.com, the network’s official Web site.

“In his short time here at YES, Michael has proven to possess a great eye
for growth opportunities,” said Ray Hopkins, COO, YES Network, to whom
Spirito will continue reporting. “He has played a significant role in our
expansion onto the digital stage, and we expect him in his new role to build
YESNetwork.com into a more robust destination for Yankees and Nets fans.”

Upon
joining the YES Network last year, Spirito took a lead role in pursuing and
consummating partnerships with best-of-breed media players Google
Video/YouTube, Amazon/CustomFlix, Yahoo!, Joost, ROO Media and 4Info. Working
intimately with Hopkins and YES President and CEO Tracy Dolgin, Spirito has
also been instrumental in helping set overall strategy for the YES Network.

YESNetwork.com
has evolved into a key asset for YES, boasting a wealth of broadband content
such as Yankees video highlights, Mike & The Mad Dog Show streaming video,
Yankees and Nets audio podcasts and Post-Game Plus, a Yankees post-game show
produced exclusively for YESNetwork.com users.

Prior to
joining the YES Network, Spirito earned a master’s degree from the Stanford
University Graduate School of Business in May 2006. While pursuing his master’s
degree, he spent time at YES as special assistant to Dolgin and Hopkins.
Before entering Stanford, Spirito was a founding member and senior manager
of Time Warner Inc.’s first centralized strategy and investments group, a $500
million media and entertainment investment fund.

Earlier, Spirito was an investment banking
analyst in the Media and Telecommunications Group at Credit Suisse First Boston
Corporation. Spirito graduated from

Amherst

College magna cum laude
in May 1998 with a B.A. in economics.
