CBS: Pats-Colts drew highest rating in 20 years

The
Associated Press- CBS said the Patriots-Colts game earned the highest rating
for a Sunday afternoon NFL broadcast since at least 1987, when it began keeping
such records. It was seen by an average of 22.5 percent of homes in the top 56

U.S. media
markets, the network said yesterday. It was the top-rated TV program since
ABC’s broadcast of the Academy Awards in February.

Sound check. A day after unusual sounds were heard during the Pats-Colts
broadcast, the NFL said what sounded like simulated crowd noise was actually
tape feedback created by the CBS production crew and could not be heard in the
RCA Dome.

Also yesterday, NBC said it picked Patriots-Bills on Nov. 18 at

Buffalo as its first
“flexible scheduling” game of the season. The game, originally a 1
p.m. start on CBS, will begin at 8:15.
