SI Readers Rate Lambeau Number One Game Day Atmosphere

Lambeau
Field, considered a religious experience by many, has been voted by Sports
Illustrated readers as having the Number One “Game Day Atmosphere” among 32 NFL
stadiums.

Ellerbe Becket delivered the most extensive facelift in the stadium’s history
earlier this decade, a perfect storm of historic renovation combined with new
features that will assure the team’s financial survival for decades to come.

“From the commute, to tailgating to taking ones’ seat, the act of attending a
game is an experience shared by every NFL fan from
Seattle
to

Miami.
But what separates one venue from another?” the magazine asks.

“If you can’t make it to church on Sunday, this is the next best thing,” writes
a Lambeau lover, one of the 17,000 respondents to the SI.com survey. The
results provide a snapshot of what readers/web surfers think about the game day
experience in today’s NFL. Click on the link to view the survey http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/11/01/fvi.intro/index.html

Ratings were determined based on seven criteria: tickets, food & souvenirs,
accessibility, tailgating, team performance, stadium atmosphere and the
neighborhood.

The $295 million Lambeau redevelopment expanded traditional fan amenities, improved
circulation and provided increased concourse widths, restrooms and points of
sale. With the new press and suite levels located above the existing
structure, nine additional rows of seating were added to offer more club
seating and general seating options.

“People love the stadium as much as they love this team,” Packers Chairman of
the Board Bob Harlan told the Associated Press at the grand reopening in September
2003.
