Setanta Sports launches sports news channel

Irish
sports broadcaster Setanta continued its policy of expansion and challenging
major rival Sky Sports by launching a 24-hour rolling sports news channel.

The channel is broadcasting breaking and general sports news, plus special
features. Kelly Dalglish, the daughter of Scotland and Liverpool football
legend Kenny Dalglish and previously with Sky Sports News, is presenting a
weekly talk show, while player and former Premier League manger Steve Claridge
is fronting a phone-in program. A heralded feature is The Goal Rush, claimed to
be the only free-to-air sports news program that will show all goals scored in
the English and Scottish Premier Leagues.

Among the other presenters on Setanta Sports News are Ashley House, previously
with Real Madrid TV, ex-BBC Sport reporter Roann Ghosh and Lisa Knights, a
former Commonwealth Games athlete.

Leonard Ryan, joint chief executive of Setanta Sports, commented, “Setanta
Sports News was created to offer a straightforward and fresh way of delivering
sports news and quality content to fans across the

UK. I am delighted that Setanta has
taken this major step forward and created this cutting edge sports news service
that can be enjoyed in millions of homes across the

UK.”
