Broadcast Pix Ships 600th System to Texas Rangers

Broadcast Pix
Inc. shipped its 600th unit to Rangers Ballpark in
Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. The Rangers Ballpark video production team will use its Broadcast
Pix Slate live video production system to broadcast replays during home
baseball games on large video monitors in the ballpark. The replays will
be reminiscent of what viewers experience on broadcast television.

Broadcast Pix was the first company to integrate the
functionality of an entire production control into a single workstation.
For the price of a switcher, the Slate 2100 integrates multi-view monitoring, a
character generator, a clip store, and aspect ratio management among other
features. The Rangers Ballpark production team will use Slate to
accommodate cameras, auxiliary source equipment, and feeds from four live
production trucks.
“The Broadcast Pix Slate brings us from 1990s technology to
the present time, while setting us up well into the future by allowing us to
upgrade to HD when we are ready,” said Chuck Morgan, Vice President of
Entertainment and Special Events for the Texas Rangers. “The Broadcast
Pix switcher wears many hats, as do our operators. That versatility
allows our operators to perform multiple functions as we have done in the past,
in a less hectic manner. We are only limited by our imaginations.”
