RF Central leads overhaul of WAWS-TV Fox 30 News

WAWS-TV
Fox 30 News is now BAS Relocation compliant after a microwave equipment overhaul
led by RF Central, a digital microwave technology and integration provider.
With
three of its skilled technicians on site over a seven-day period, RF Central
replaced three transmitters and two receivers as well the station’s remote
control unit to help WAWS-TV Fox 30 News through its transition. In addition,
two of WAWS-TV’s mobile trucks required a full Nycoil replacement, a tall task
that WAWS-TV Fox 30 News System Engineer Joe Brown says was easily achieved by
RF Central.
Marking
the station’s first time in using RF Central’s integration services, Brown says
that RF Central proved the ideal choice, facilitating the transition in a
timely and efficient manner. “RF Central’s proficiency and professionalism was
remarkable,” explains Brown. “While it manufactures its own microwave
equipment, its team is highly skilled and knowledgeable on working with other
manufacturer’s equipment. In addition, RF Central is the company I know of that
is able to offer loner trucks while on location working on live truck microwave
integration, which was vital for keeping Fox 30’s day-to-day productions and
broadcasts seamless throughout the entire process.”
In
the heart of 2 GHz BAS Relocation, RF Central CEO Jeff Winemiller says, “RF
Central prides itself on being a resource for broadcasters and the various
issues they face in the ever-changing world of technology. We are happy we
could uphold this mission with WAWS-TV Fox 30 News.”
He
adds, “With BAS Relocation impacting many within the broadcast industry, RF
Central has taken measures to deliver integration services at a level that
adheres to the 2 GHz conversion. We have inventory ready for installation with
skilled technicians who are able to work with various manufacturer equipment
and ready to travel anywhere in the continental United States via field service
trailers.”
