Houston We Have a Sony Demo on June 27

Sony is hosting a hands on demonstration of XDCAM EX and XDCAM cameras as well as related workflows on Saturday, June 27 at KHOU-TV in Houston. Two sessions will be offered with the first beginning at 10 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. A lunch will also be served from noon to 1 p.m.

The first session will cover shooting and content delivery and is designed for freelancers who shoot and deliver camera originals to their clients. Peter Crithary will provide an in-depth overview of each camera system. Crithary is a Sony Sales Support Engineer. Peter is an expert on XDCAM and was a freelancer before joining Sony. He has also been one of the lead technical resources on several key customers migration to HD including CNN.

The afternoon session will be focused on freelancers that shoot and post produce content for their clients. Greg Boston will provide an overview of the workflow he has used on many completed projects. Boston is the owner of Waspnest Productions; primarily a shooter and voice over talent with some editing on FCP and Avid Free DV. He will share his experiences with XDCAM & EX and provide workflows for Final Cut Pro.

Gear demonstrated will include the PMWEX1, PMWEX3, PDWF355 and PDW700 products as well as the new Sony HDCA702 ASI adaptor and Sony digital wireless audio products. Final Cut Pro and Avid workflows will also be discussed.
