CES 2010: Sony Unveils Bravia LX900 with 3D Functionality

Sony announced more than 38 HDTV models at its Consumer Electronics Show press conference in Las Vegas Wednesday, but the focus of the show was on 3D.  Various 3D products were previewed throughout and Sony was announced as the official sponsor of ESPN’s new 3D network.

The Bravia LX900 led the way for Sony with its integrated 3D functionality and included 3D shutter glasses and built-in 3D transmitter.  It also features Motionflow PRO 200Hz, LED Backlight technology and built-in Wi-Fi access. The HX900 and HX800-series are similar models but require consumers to buy the glasses and external 3D transmitter separately.

Sony’s star-studded press conference featured a performance by Taylor Swift (projected in 3D on a screen behind her) and a 2D-to-3D presentation of Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock.

Also presented were a series of Sony’s industry leading 3D cameras as well as various HD handheld cameras.
