Boland Promoted to Senior Producer at YES

Bill Boland has been promoted to senior producer, production at the YES Network, and will now be the lead producer for YES’ New York Yankees telecasts. The Emmy Award-winning producer will report to John Filippelli, president of production and programming at the YES Network.

A 17-year TV veteran, Boland has been with YES since November 2001, just before the network’s March 2002 launch date. During his eight-plus years at YES, Boland has produced numerous Yankees games, Yankees pre- and post-game shows, and Yankees Batting Practice Today shows, as well as several New Jersey Nets pre-game, half-time and post-game programs, Yankees Hot Stove shows, and Ivy League football and basketball telecasts.

During his nearly two decades in television, Boland has earned a combined seven national and New York Emmy Awards and accumulated a total of 20 national and New York Emmy nominations. He has won five New York Emmys while at YES.

“Bill has established himself as a top-shelf producer who is incredibly versatile,” says Filippelli.  “He is very adept at storytelling and at framing the action, and has played a major role as our remote telecasts and studio shows have become the standard bearers for regional sports networks nationwide.”

Prior to joining YES, Boland worked at ABC Sports from 1994-2001, serving in various production capacities for marquee events and programs that included Super Bowl XXXIV, Monday Night Football, NFL post-season games, Wide World of Sports, the Indianapolis 500; the Kentucky Derby, college football studio shows, and World Cup Soccer. Boland also had been an associate producer at ESPN, working on events such as the NFL Draft and the Summer and Winter X Games.

Boland graduated from Trenton State College in New Jersey with a B.A. in Communications.
