Vancouver 2010: Games Expected to Bring in 200 Million Viewers

The 2010 Vancouver Games are expected to garner some 200 million viewers, according to Alan Wurtzel, NBC Universal president of research. This would make the Vancouver Games the most watched Winter Olympics since the 1994 Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

Multichannel News reports that during a presentation reviewing NBC’s multiplatform research measurement plans and goals for this year’s games, Wurtzel said that consumers’ “intent to view” the Vancouver Games is “huge,” and will continue to grow following Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7.

NBCU will offer a total of 835 hours of total Winter Olympics coverage across several media platforms and TV networks.
