The world’s largest racecourse now has a video screen to match, as Sojitz and Mitsubishi Electric have installed a colossal Diamond Vision screen at the recently opened Medan Racecourse in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The screen measures 107.52 meters by 10.88 meters for a total area of 1,169.8 square meters (registry as a Guinness World Record is pending). The screen contains approximately 12 million High-luminance LEDs and creates an overwhelming HD image that spans the entire across the entire far edge of the racetrack.

The multipurpose facility features a five-star hotel and museum in addition to the racecourse, which has spectator stands totaling 1.6 km to accommodate 60,000 spectators. This March, the Meydan Racecourse will host the 15th annual Dubai World Cup, the world’s riches horse race with $10 million in prize money.

The facility joins the club of more than 950 locations worldwide that currently feature Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision, including the Tokyo Dome and the new Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, TX.
