NBA Digital Sets Record for Video Streams During All-Star Weekend

The live attendance for a basketball game was not the only record to fall during the 2010 NBA All-Star festivities last weekend. Along with the 108,713 attendees in Dallas Cowboys Stadium, NBA Digital also established the all-time record for video streams during NBA All-Star weekend with more than 17 million, an increase of more than 20% from last year’s record. The record included a single-day mark of 4.95 million video streams viewed by fans on Sunday.

TNT set watermarks of its own, garnering 6.9 million total viewers and 4.4 million households for Sunday’s All-Star Game, making it the most watched cable program for the month of February. In addition, the network’s coverage of NBA All-Star Saturday Night pulled in the second largest audience in the event’s 25 year history, with 5.5 million people and 3.6 million households tuning in for the festivities.

Overall, NBA Digital and TNT provided fans with nearly 70 hours of live coverage including 18 ½ hours on TNT, 20 hours of original content on NBA TV, and nearly 30 hours of live streaming and original content on NBA.com and TNT Overtime.  The live coverage on NBA.com was the most ever on the site during All-Star.
