Masstech Unveils CatchBLUE Management Solution

Masstech has released CatchBLUE, a new comprehensive management solution for all file-based content delivery service integration. CatchBLUE is a complete cost-effective solution that automates the “localization” of content and metadata received from content distributors.  CatchBLUE eliminates costly, labour intensive linear HD and SD content delivery processes with workflows that automate catch-from-satellite, use built-in transcoding in-line, manage metadata, and work with leading broadcast automation systems.

“We are really very excited about CatchBLUE,” says Joe French, CEO and president of Masstech Group. “CatchBLUE is a powerful, yet affordable tool and is already working in a number of facilities, delivering great efficiencies. We examined the deployment of CatchBLUE and determined that it delivers a significant return on investment with payback in only four months. With the integration of PitchBlue into the CatchBLUE solution, broadcasters can now have one box that manages, transcodes and delivers all satellite delivered file-based content into their facility without manual intervention, saving dramatic costs and valuable station time.”

Masstech is offering a time-limited NAB special introductory pricing on CatchBLUE of $19,900 (complete hardware and software package no options required), that expires on April 15. Facilities must sign up for the solution before the end of NAB to qualify. Installations will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.  After NAB, the solution price will be $29,900 for hardware/software.

CatchBLUE Interfaces with DG Systems, Pathfire, PitchBlue, and On the Spot for HD and SD content. Users can move content to Desktop Media Prep, Automation, Traffic, Air Server, Nearline Disk, and Data Tape Library. The system features 64 transcoding blades, so that files can be seamlessly transcoded within CatchBlue for playout or other requirements. It also features embedded splice, rewrap, transcode, and direct connect to play-to-air servers. Metadata Interoperability is possible between CatchBLUE and Delivery Services, Automation, and Traffic. The system can be controlled via web browser for management, configuration, delivery status, and schedule. An integrated file level Quality Control (QC) module is optional with purchase. Upgrades for MassStore TOPAZ and INDIGO systems are available for more extensive workflow, archiving, and media asset management performance.
