Orad, Fx-Motion Team Up for All-in-One Robotic Camera-Virtual Studio Solution

Orad and Fx-Motion will release their new robotic, all in one, virtual studio solution NAB 2010. With the new solution, a single operator can control during production both the virtual studio and all the cameras from the same user interface, saving considerably on operational costs.

Implementing the robotic-based solution by itself carries significant cost savings and Orad and Fx-Motion took this a step further by allowing the virtual studio operator to trigger the camera shots from within the virtual studio controller. In addition to substantial cost savings, it is also possible to synchronize between camera shots and graphic events so that with a single key stroke the operator can, for example, trigger a camera pan along with a graphic animation.

The new Orad-Fx-Motion solution is a servo motor-based camera head with integrated high resolution absolute encoders. The absolute encoders provide precise measurements of the camera head’s movements, allowing extremely accurate tracking capabilities.

The integrated solution can be manually controlled through an industry standard Joystick control panel (pan, tilt, focus, zoom) or through Orad’s 3DPlay advanced controller, allowing extensive flexibility for both virtual and real studio productions.

The solution can carry a standard ENG style broadcast camera payload with typical ENG lenses or a standard box camera with a Teleprompter. The system also seamlessly integrates with leading broadcast lenses available on the market today. The system has an easy set-up and is controlled over a standard Ethernet network infrastructure, reducing installation costs.

The new solution will be demonstrated at Orad’s SL2014 booth.
