ViewCast’s Niagara 7500 Streaming Device Picked for Hard Rock’s The Joint Concert Venue

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas has selected the ViewCast Corp.’s Niagara 7500 high-definition streaming-media appliance as part of its audio-visual package for The Joint rock-concert venue, recently redesigned in the hotel and casino’s $750 million makeover and expansion.

“The digital capture and streaming of live events such as the concerts, athletic matches, the opera and other dramatic productions have become more commonplace and will soon represent a core segment of our entertainment choices,” said ViewCast President/CEO Dave Stoner. “Venues across the nation and world that are looking to promote, market, and expand revenue opportunities via streamed events will need to acquire technology like Niagara and other media-management tools. Our goal is to deliver the most innovative and reliable encoding and media-management products to these enterprises.”

The Niagara 7500 dual quad core streaming appliance simplifies the complex workflows associated with the transformation and delivery of HD video to IP and mobile networks. It features touch-control interface with contextual menus and handles SD and HD-SDI video, balanced/unbalanced analog and AES/EBU digital audio, and eight stereo pairs of embedded SDI audio. Video-preprocessing tools include closed-caption rendering, de-interlacing, and inverse telecine. Multiple Niagara 7500 systems can be controlled remotely with the included Niagara SCXR Pro management software, and a robust SDK for application customization suits them to the most demanding professional broadcasting applications.
