Panasonic Unveils 3D Production Workshops

Panasonic Solutions Co. and Createasphere plan a series of Panasonic 3D Production Workshops, starting in the fall in Los Angeles. Additional dates and cities for the workshops will be announced shortly.

Createasphere, a producer of community-driven events and education for content creators, has an eight-year track record of category-defining professional education geared specifically to the working cinematographer.

The workshops were launched in response to increased demand for 3D content and the attendant growing number of 3D productions. Panasonic recognized that content creators across almost every market segment — from the expected entertainment and sports markets to emerging 3D markets like education, houses of worship, and corporate — needed hands-on education to be ready to create and compete. To execute its vision, Panasonic turned to long-time partner Createasphere, which developed the targeted curriculum and workshop experience.

The workshops will directly address a wide spectrum of issues confronting content creators who venture into 3D. The programs include lectures, mentored shoots, screenings, and hands-on exploration of high-end Panasonic cameras, fixed rigs and camcorders, including Panasonic’s new, integrated 3D camcorder, the AG-3DA1, debuting this week at NAB.

Createasphere President Kristin Petrovich Kennedy notes, “We have been Panasonic’s educational partner for over eight years and share a passionate point of view about the importance of education for our community. We are confident that the attendees at these workshops will be ready for the challenges as well as the incredible opportunities that are part of 3D.”
