NextComputing Portable Workstation Integrates NVIDIA Quadro Digital Video Pipeline

NextComputing has unveiled Radius, a mobile system for real-time capture, processing, and output of high-resolution video and broadcast-quality audio. Integrating the NVIDIA Quadro Digital Video Pipeline, the briefcase-sized portable workstation is being shown at NAB in the NVIDIA booth, SL 5629.

The video-production-workflow solution supports resolutions from SD up to 2K, including full HD-SDI with embedded audio, in a lightweight chassis that is simple to transport and set up for live production.

The Quadro Digital Video Pipeline simplifies and accelerates production by integrating an NVIDIA Quadro SDI capture board, a Quadro FX professional graphics-processing unit (GPU), and a Quadro SDI output board, all available through PNY Technologies.

NextComputing Radius and NVIDIA Quadro are suitable for virtual sets and sports and weather/news systems that composite live video footage and virtual backgrounds and send the results to live TV. Film-production, postproduction, and finishing professionals can preview and record the results of 3D compositing, editing, and color grading in real time on HD broadcast monitors.

Radius also supports Quadro FX 4800 and FX 5800 graphics solutions for users requiring more GPU processing power.
