Saturday Night is Fight Night for Comcast Network

The Comcast Network has announced plans to air original boxing and mixed martial arts programming every Saturday, beginning May 8.  The lineup will include action from Golden Gloves Championships, Bellator Fighting, Ringside Boxing, and the Broadway Boxing series, plus related documentaries and profiles of legendary boxers and arenas.  The boxing and MMA content will air every Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight with new fights airing every week.

Saturday’s boxing lineup begins at 6 p.m. with bouts from Bellator Fighting Championship, followed by Broadway Boxing Series at 8 p.m.  The documentary Rocky Marciano: A Life Story will follow at 10 p.m.

Rocky Marciano is still the only undefeated heavyweight champion in boxing history. The two-hour special, Rocky Marciano: A Life Story, is the definitive film about Rocky’s remarkable life and career. Shot on location in his hometown of Brockton, MA, special guests in the film include Angelo Dundee, Tom Lasorda, author Gay Talese, Joe Paterno, and Russell Sullivan, author of Rocky Marciano, A Man of His Times. Also appearing in the film are Rocky’s five surviving siblings, brothers Louis and Peter, sisters Betty, Connie and Alice, as well as many of Rocky’s closest friends.
