CSN Chicago Closes Out Record-Breaking Blackhawks Playoffs Coverage with a Bang

Comcast SportsNet Chicago closed out its 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs game coverage last night (May 11) with a 9.93 household rating for its coverage of the Blackhawks Game 6 second round-clinching victory over the Vancouver Canucks.  The 9.93 mark is the second highest-rated game telecast in CSN Chicago history, slightly behind the all-time 10.14 record for Game 3 of the Canucks series on May 5. The Blackhawks will now take on the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Finals, which will air exclusively on Versus and NBC.

“It has been quite a thrill for us to cover this amazing young team throughout the 2009-10 regular season and playoffs, which is now marked by their second-straight trip to the Western Conference Finals,” says James J. The second round finale tops off a record-breaking playoff push for the network, notched the top five highest-rated Blackhawks games ever during the nine playoff telecasts.  For its nine total Blackhawks playoff telecasts this year, CSN Chicago averaged a 7.60 HH, which was up 58% from last season, when the network aired ten total playoff games. In addition, Comcast SportsNet scored a final combined 38.85 HH cume rating equaling approximately 2.4 Million Chicago TV homes, which is over 711,105 more than last year.
