GEO Semiconductor Taps SENSIO 3D IP Core for Realta sxT2 Chip

GEO Semiconductor has licensed SENSIO Technologies’ 3D IP Core for integration into the GEO Realta sxT2 (T2) chip used worldwide by manufacturers of broadcast and media systems.

The Realta is an advanced video and geometry processing IC that deploys a massively parallel array of SIMD processors to implement video processing algorithms at full HD (1080p) resolutions in software.

According to GEO Semiconductor, the company will increase its focus on 3D as it continues to sell the Realta T2 chip to higher-end markets, addressing infrastructure transport, pixel processing, display conversion of two HD streams into one 3D stream, and edge blending for projection-related 3D displays.
