Riedel Overhauls Zurich Opera House Communications System

The Zurich Opera House has installed a new communications system from Riedel Communications. Riedel’s system combines its Artist digital matrix intercom and Performer partyline technology. The system is already installed and running.

At the heart of the installation at the opera house is a Riedel Artist 64 digital matrix intercom system with redundant power supplies and CPUs. A total of eleven Artist 1000 control panels are used at the opera house. A C44 Performer digital partyline system interface provides the seamless integration of 10 Performer beltpacks.

“For our communications infrastructure we needed an installation that we could absolutely rely on in terms of stability and flexibility,” says Elfried Roller, chief technician lighting at the Zurich Opera House. “Our solution with Artist and Performer provides a versatile system that can be adapted to the specific demands of every production,”

A Riedel RiFace offers the integration of professional mobile radio transceivers into the wired intercom installation. A specifically installed computer with the Riedel Director software allows for quick and easy programming of the comms infrastructure via drag and drop.
