IBC 2010: Miranda To Proffer Enhanced Kaleido-Modular Multi-Viewer

At IBC 2010, Miranda Technologies will highlight a new cascading feature for its Kaleido-Modular multi-viewer, which allows the system to provide monitoring with up to 24 pictures per monitor.

“Kaleido-Modular is an exceptionally flexible solution, which uses a standard module to create multi-viewers ranging from a quad-split, all the way up to the very largest monitoring system with thousands of inputs and hundreds of displays”, says Louis Caron, senior product manager at Miranda. “This design also allows individual monitors to be configured very cost-effectively, in terms of whether they need up to 4, 8, 16 or 24 video windows to be displayed.”

Designed around small building blocks with eight video inputs and dual monitor outputs, the Kaleido-Modular multi-viewer offers solid resilience due to its small failure block.

Kaleido-Modular has a delay of less than half a frame, and offers silent operation and a quality picture. It can also be used for monitoring Stereoscopic 3D, including Dual 1.5Gbps and Dual 3Gbps signals.

The Kaleido-Modular multi-viewer also offers space and energy efficiency, with up to 20 multi-viewer outputs per 3RU Densite frame, consuming less than 300 Watts in total.

For larger monitoring requirements, Kaleido-Modular can be expanded up to 288 multi-viewer outputs when connected to an upstream NVISION, or third party, router. An integrated routing and multi-viewer system can be controlled using one or more RCP-200 remote control panels.
