IBC 2010: AXON To Demo Synapse Control on iPad

At IBC 2010, AXON (Hall 10, Stand #A.21 & B.21) will demonstrate new Synapse modular products, compliance recorders and monitoring & control software, and most notably Synapse control through an Apple iPad.

This new iPad Synapse control facility allows operators can monitor and control their key business workflows quickly and intuitively using a range of Apple-developed IT platforms.

AXON’s SynTouch is a free-of-charge application for the Apple iPad, as well as iPod Touch and iPhone, which enables users to control all Synapse modules within their system. SynTouch is the third control tool for Synapse next to Axon Cortex software and AXON’s SCP08 hardware panel.

AXON released its SynTouch application for iPod Touch and iPhone last year, but the company sees the iPad as a much more appropriate platform to integrate alongside Synapse. Its significantly larger screen size lends itself to Synapse control with larger key sizes and the ability to display more information on a single screen.

“The power of iPad needs no further explanation – today, there is an increasing number of remote control applications available on iPad, so the advantages of integrating Synapse control modules within this architecture are clear,” says Peter Schut, Chief Technology Officer at AXON.  “iPad could become the ubiquitous remote control platform within modern media operations. Synapse is developed  around a concept of increasing control and reducing work-related pressure within media environments. This latest development further strengthens our core proposition.”
