Vizrt Anchor App Puts Playlist in Palm of Talent’s Hands

The Viz Anchor App for the Apple iPad is on display at the Vizrt stand at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam, giving on-air talent and producers an application that runs natively on the iPad and allows users to control newsroom playlists, including video and graphics directly from the handheld device. And playlist changes can occur automatically and wirelessly.

The new product integrates seamlessly with existing Vizrt workflows and provides a subset of Vizrt’s control applications. “With properly designed scenes and control interface, on-air talent can decide which scenes to display, like charts of an election, and which parts to emphasize,” says Gerhard Schaber PhD, head of R&D Austria for Vizrt. “By turning the device 90 degrees, the device shows a list of actions the user can take with a control interface that is never displayed on a screen the viewer sees.”

Says Vizrt CTO Petter Ole Jakobsen, “Viz Anchor App is much more than a glorified remote control for your playlist. With the Viz Anchor App’s support for video and graphics playback on the iPad, users can integrate the device into the presentation and make it an integral part of the show.”
