Thought Equity Motion Leverages Content To Grow Value of Sports Rights

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome its newest sponsor, Thought Equity Motion. Since 2003, the company has been increasing the value of video content through its advanced technology platform and rights-development services. A corporate sponsor, the company specializes in growing the value of sports rights by leveraging archive and “near live” content to deepen engagement. Thought Equity Motion captures and connects archival content alongside broadcast at high scale and deploys its video technology to create new ad and sponsorship vehicles and extend events by connecting to fan interest year-round.

Thought Equity Motion works with more than 400 rightsholders globally, including the NCAA, BBC Motion Gallery, Raycom Sports, and the National Rugby League. These sports-rights holders are able to tap into its advanced engine as a service, reducing staffing and technology investment, and matching scale and cost structure to their economics. Its platform also powers new sports-video–publishing models, such as the NCAA Vault.

“Given that we work with major sports-rights holders around the world,” says CEO/founder Kevin Schaff, “Thought Equity Motion is excited to join the Sports Video Group and support education and innovation in how the next generation of rights development and technology tools will drive new value in the industry and deliver rich experiences for fans worldwide.”

NCAA Vault, a first-of-its-kind video-publishing model, is powered by Thought Equity Motion’s technology platform. At launch, the site featured NCAA Sweet Sixteen men’s basketball games through the championships of the last decade, but championship games from other sports will be added over time. Games are indexed with rich metadata tagging around players, teams, and highlights so consumers can jump in and out of games at the moment level. The rich-video site is ad/sponsor-supported.
