Broadpeak Integrates CDN Platform with Inlet’s Spinnaker Live Streaming Appliances

Broadpeak has completed integration between Mediator, its content delivery network (CDN) management system, and Inlet Technologies’ Spinnaker live streaming appliances. The integration enables a turnkey Web TV offering for multichannel providers, such as cable and telco operators and network service providers worldwide, who are looking to provide access to their content via the Web for existing subscribers or to new subscribers via an over-the-top application.

Advanced redundancy between the technologies from Broadpeak and Inlet ensures reliable, high-performance adaptive bitrate encoding from Inlet that powers the delivery of content over IP networks provided by Broadpeak. The system trims deployment time and eliminates costs for integration and troubleshooting. The Broadpeak system also features advanced monitoring of the encoded content to ensure quality and network performance.

The scalable Broadpeak Mediator system enables network service providers to efficiently deliver content to multiple screens, over any type of network, using intelligent popularity management to optimize system storage capacity and system load balancing to ensure high-performance. The system’s servers feature redundancy and fail-over management and network topology is easily managed using advanced, secure, multilayered PoP technology. Ideal for over-the-top Web television delivery, Mediator also provides geolocation and geoblocking features for Internet streaming. It can be used as a private CDN or installed as a wholesale platform.

Spinnaker is Inlet Technologies’ family of real-time streaming appliances. The platform can stream in multiple formats to any device, including iPhone, iPad, feature phones, and smart phones. Spinnaker offers full support for adaptive bitrate streaming.
