Stagetec’s Crescendo Pumps Up the Volume at NBA All-Star Game

In 2011, CP Communications provided the audio submix trailer for the broadcast of the NBA All Star Game at the Staples Center in LA. The trailer, which houses a 32 fader Crescendo and NEXUS fiber router system, was used during the All-Star game for the 2nd year in a row. The three day event was preceded by the setup of several OB trucks across the street from the Staples and Nokia Center connected to the main venue via fiber.

At the controls was Jeff Walker, a veteran of the submix at the games himself.  “We had several fiber distribution systems at the show, but the NEXUS proved to hold its ground and gave a very solid performance.  In fact, several A1’s poked their heads into the trailer throughout the event to see what all the fuss was about.”

Also in 2011 was the Stagetec opening of an office in New York City.  Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the new office has been equipped with an AURUS and a CRESCENDO console and several NEXUS systems.

“Having our systems this close to the biggest market for broadcast and theatre in the US was important to us,” states Rusty Waite, President of Stagetec USA, “and offers the ability for potential and existing customers to come by for a demo and/or training.”
