Retired Cameraman Searches for Relics of TV Pioneers

The Australian reports that what was one TV station’s trash is Daryl Binning’s treasure.

A sharp-eyed scavenger found a relic Ampex video disc machine in a skip outside the station and handed it to the Australian Museum of Motion Picture and Television, which is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the nation’s moving image industries. Binning, the AMMPT’s president and national co-ordinator, immediately recognized its significance.
