NAB 2011: Stagetec Opens East Coast Office, Partners With Audinate

Heading into the NAB Show, Stagetec is on a roll, with some interesting news from the corporate side and some high-profile recent case studies to highlight.

The company started off the year with the opening of an East Coast office in New York, equipped with both an Aurus and a Crescendo console and several NEXUS systems. “Having our systems this close to the biggest market for broadcast and theatre in the U.S. was important to us,” says Rusty Waite, president of Stagetec USA. “It offers the ability for potential and existing customers to come by for a demo and/or training.”

The company has also announced a partnership with Audinate under which it will incorporate Audinate’s Dante digital-media-networking technology into a range of Stagetec products to help with the transport of high-quality media over standard IT networks.

Elsewhere, for the second year in a row, CP Communications provided the audio submix trailer that housed a 32-fader Crescendo and NEXUS fibre router system for the broadcast of the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. And ESPN decided to deploy Stagetec’s NEXUS MADI routing system for its broadcast from the Winter X Games in Aspen, CO, using it to link nine digital mixing consoles spread out across six OB trucks.
