Hudl Acquires Largest Competitor

Hudl has announced the acquisition of Digital Sports Video (DSV), a well-established video editing company based in Reno, NV. DSV has built a loyal customer base of more than 3,000 high schools and has more than 10 years of experience in sports video.

Both companies expect to benefit from the consolidation of their customer bases. DSV touts some of the nation’s best sports programs, and now coaches will be able to instantly trade film with them. With a broader pool of athletes having access to video, their exposure in recruiting is expected to increase.

Hudl CEO David Graff felt that the two companies had a great deal in common – both had built a broad, passionate, and loyal customer base and both had the same ultimate goal: help coaches win.

Hudl’s products were built from the ground up to work well online and with new mobile technologies like Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platforms.

“This acquisition is a great opportunity for Hudl,” said David Graff, CEO Hudl. “With an even larger number of teams using Hudl, we will be able to accomplish a lot of really cool ideas that we have in the works.”
