Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic Begins NFL Regular Season Coverage This Week

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic begins its NFL regular-season coverage this week with extensive on-air programming and online content surrounding the 2011 Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens. This season’s expanded coverage is highlighted by the debut of Ravens Kickoff and Ravens Postgame Live, which join Redskins pregame and postgame shows as part of the network’s comprehensive game-day coverage of the region’s NFL teams.

Comcast SportsNet’s award-winning Redskins pregame show, Redskins Kickoff, will make its regular-season debut live from FedExField prior to the Redskins’ season-opener against the N.Y. Giants on Sunday, Sept. 11, beginning at 3 p.m. Redskins Postgame Live, a comprehensive 90-minute postgame show, will air immediately following the game. Hosted by Chick Hernandez, the game-day shows feature analysts Brian Mitchell and Trevor Matich, with reporting from Kelli Johnson, as well as special guests. These programs will air before and after each game throughout the season.

As part of a new partnership with the Ravens, Comcast SportsNet will also be home to the team’s official pregame and postgame shows this season. Ravens Kickoff, which will air for an hour prior to select games this season, will debut on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 12 p.m. prior to Baltimore’s game at Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. Ravens Postgame Live will air for 90 minutes following all regular-season and playoff games, beginning with Sunday’s opener. Hosted by Chris Miller, the exclusive Ravens game-day shows will feature analysts Brad Jackson and Antonio Freeman and reporter Brent Harris.

Comcast SportsNet will again deliver live coverage of the Ravens’ and Redskins’ weekly head coach press conferences as part of special half-hour shows. SportsNet Central: Mike Shanahan Live, which will be led by Johnson and feature analysis from Mitchell, will air live at 3 p.m. the day after each game throughout the season, immediately followed by an encore at 3:30 p.m. SportsNet Central: John Harbaugh Live will feature Miller and Jackson and will air at 4 p.m. the day following each game, with a 4:30 p.m. encore. The shows will make their season debuts on Monday, Sept. 12.

The network will continue to air the Redskins’ and Ravens’ daily team shows throughout the season. Redskins Nation, hosted by Larry Michael, airs weekdays at 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The Ravens’ full lineup of shows air during the regular season and playoffs, including 1 Winning Drive (Monday), Ravens One on One (Tuesday), Game Plan (Wednesday), Ravens Report (Thursday), and Purple Passion (Friday). The Ravens’ programs, which began this week, will air at 5 p.m. and 12 a.m. on their respective days, except for Ravens One on One, which only airs at 12 a.m.

Comcast SportsNet’s NFL coverage will also be prominently featured on the network’s full lineup of daily news and entertainment programs, including Washington Post Live, which recently moved to a new 10:30 p.m. timeslot, and SportsNet Central, which airs daily at 6 p.m., 10 p.m., 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Exclusive one-on-one interviews with Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan will be featured during SportsNet Central the day following each game and on Fridays.

Comcast SportsNet also provides complete daily coverage of the Redskins and Ravens online at CSNWashington.com and CSNBaltimore.com. The network’s stable of reporters, led by Redskins Insider Ryan O’Halloran, Redskins Blogger Rich Tandler and Ravens Insider John Eisenberg, will continue to deliver extensive team content throughout the season.
