ACC Enhances Official Mobile App with Live Broadcast Coverage

iPhone, iPad and Android users can all now access live coverage of ACC Network broadcasts including 13 ACC football games and 35 ACC basketball games with the official ACC Sports App, launched by Raycom Sports and powered by Silver Chalice, Underground Labs, and NASCAR Media Group.

Available now in the Apple iTunes Store and Android Market, college football and basketball fans nationwide can download the app to watch live ACC Network coverage via 3G, 4G and/or WiFi on their iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

“We saw tremendous success last year with the ACC Sports iPhone App and it’s exciting to launch this year’s enhanced version for both the Apple iPad and Android devices,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “These platforms provide an additional opportunity to reach our fans and to continue our on-going initiative to offer more conference content than ever before.”

In addition to live games, fans can get video-on-demand featuring game highlights, team previews, players of the week, and historical recaps from the ACC Archives. The ACC Sports App also features a fully interactive game schedule that provides live scoring, stats, play-by-plays, game previews, game recaps, and AP and Conference news.

The new ACC Sports iPad App features a game center with a rich interactive display and showcases high resolution video.

The ACC Sports App is a free download, with Raycom Sports’ productions of live ACC Network football and basketball broadcasts available to the mobile consumer for a one-time annual fee.  Charlotte-based NASCAR Media Group will handle the encoding and streaming duties for the ACC Sports application.

“With the help of our great partners, we have created the most dynamic conference mobile application in the market today,” said Colin Smith, VP of Distribution and New Media at Raycom Sports.

“Raycom Sports and the ACC are dedicated to bringing fans, students, and alumni a great mobile sports experience and Silver Chalice is proud to support such committed partners,” said John Burris, president of Silver Chalice. “In year two of our relationship, we have expanded mobile platforms, increased functionality and customization in order to delight the fans and drive more users and usage for Raycom Sports and the conference.”
