Elemental Technologies, delatre Team Up for 2011 Rugby World Cup

To deliver expanded coverage of this year’s Rugby World Cup, sports media provider deltatre is using solutions developed by Elemental Technologies, a provider of video processing solutions that enable multi-screen content delivery.

The deployment for the Rugby World Cup, which customizes video for IP-connected devices, builds upon Elemental’s momentum in the European multi-screen video market. The 2011 Rugby World Cup began on Sept. 9 and will be played through Oct. 23 in New Zealand.

deltatre is using Elemental Server to provide near real-time turnaround of match highlights for the official event website and mobile applications. Adaptive bit rate game clips are delivered via the Akamai HD Network to deltatre’s innovative DIVA video player using Microsoft Smooth Streaming for Silverlight.
